Socio Economic Caste Census 2011
The Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 is a comprehensive survey of households in rural and urban India aimed at identifying and ranking households based on their socio-economic status. The dataset contains information on various demographic and economic indicators such as household composition, education, employment, land ownership, and access to basic amenities such as housing, water supply, and sanitation.
The dataset contains information on over 240 million individuals across more than 29 million households in India. It provides detailed information on household characteristics such as the number of members, their age, gender, and educational levels. It also includes information on the household's economic status, such as land ownership, employment status, and income levels.
One of the key advantages of the SECC 2011 dataset is its ability to identify and rank households based on their socio-economic status. This allows policymakers to target specific households and communities for interventions and programs aimed at reducing poverty and promoting social inclusion.
The SECC 2011 dataset has been used to inform various government programs, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), which aims to provide affordable housing to low-income households, and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), which aims to provide clean cooking fuel to poor households.
