National Family Health Survey

The National Family Health Survey (NFHS) is a large-scale, multi-round survey conducted in a representative sample of households throughout India. The survey is conducted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in collaboration with the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) and other partner organizations.

The NFHS is conducted periodically and provides important information on a wide range of health and social indicators, such as fertility, infant and child mortality, maternal and child health, nutrition, family planning, HIV/AIDS, and other health-related issues. The survey is designed to provide reliable data at the national, state, and district levels, and the results are widely used by policymakers, researchers, and program managers to inform policy and programs related to health and development.
